Zoe Gonzalez Izquierdo works in the NASA Intelligent System Division (TI) under the NASA Academic Mission Service (NAMS) contract. She is an Associate Scientist at the Research Institute of Advanced Computer Science (RIACS) at USRA.

Zoe obtained a Licenciatura in physics from the University of Oviedo (Spain) in 2013, and a PhD in physics from the University of Southern California in 2020, with a focus on quantum annealing. She first worked at QuAIL as an intern during the Summer of 2019, and after graduating, joined the team full-time in August 2020.

Her current research interests include solving hard optimization problems using quantum hardware, the theory and applications of quantum annealing, QAOA, and simulation of quantum systems. She hopes to help incorporate quantum solutions to problems of interest to NASA.
