Kamalika Das Participatesin National Science Foundation’s Data Mining Proposal Review Panel

Kamalika Das was invited to be part of one of the panels organized by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate of Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) to review proposals on advancing “big data” technology. She was part of a team that consisted of academics and researchers specializing in machine learning, data mining, and data management, who are familiar with the latest innovations in these fields. The panel’s responsibilities included reviewing multiple proposals to assist the NSF Program Manager in selecting the top proposals for funding.

BACKGROUND: Kamalika Das is an associate scientist with the University Affiliated Research Center (UARC), working in the Data Sciences group in the Discovery and Systems Health research area. Her research focuses on developing machine learning algorithms for the System-wide Safety and Assurance Technologies (SSAT) project, as well as for different Earth science problems.
