Jay Trimble Presents Human Landing System Concept of Operations to Return Humans to the Moon

Jay Trimble presented the concept of operations for the Human Landing System (HLS) to return humans to the Moon at the Advanced Cislunar Surface Capability (ACSC) Human Landing System (HLS) face-to-face meeting at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). This meeting kicked off the HLS Design Analysis (DAC) 2 cycle.

BACKGROUND: The purpose of this meeting was to bring the HLS team together to present the results of DAC1, which developed the vehicle and element concepts for the return of U.S. astronauts to the lunar surface, and to plan DAC 2. DAC 2 will be a three-month design cycle to work towards an HLS System Requirements Review (SRR) in fall 2019. Under current plans, major vehicle elements for HLS will be developed under public-private partnerships.
