Autonomous Systems and Robotics Members Give Invited Talk on the Design Enviroment for Novel Vertical Lift Vehicles

Robert Morris and Anjan Chakrabarty presented an invited talk entitled, "Design Environment for Novel Vertical Lift Vehicles", on August 16th at PARC (a Xerox Company) about the Design Environment for Novel Vertical LIft VEhicles (DELIVER) project. DELIVER seeks to advance the state of the art of vehicle autonomy for small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) through conceptual design, development, integration, simulation, and flight testing. In this talk, we highlighted the results of our three-year effort to build a system for a small UAVs that allows vehicles to autonomously search for and track objects of interest. Such a system is an integration of capabilities for sensing, visual control, and planning. We highlighted different aspects of system development, from conceptual design to simulation and testing.
