Announcement of Assurance of Autonomous Systems For Aviation Workshop (AASA 2016)

AASA 2016 (Assurance of Autonomous Systems For Aviation) is a NASA-organized workshop collated with American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Scitech 2016, that will be held January 6 and 7 in San Diego, CA (Sci Tech 2017). The workshop aims at bringing together pioneers in autonomous aviation and its assurance, both in academia and in industry.

AASA will be organized into four sessions with the following broader topics: “Describing Autonomy for System Assurance”, “Methods for Enabling Autonomy”, “Managing Key Issues for Assured Autonomy”, and “Assurance Tools and Techniques for Trusted Autonomy”. Workshop sessions will include invited talks, panels, breakout sessions, and lightning-fast talks, all targeted at making concrete progress towards identifying key challenges in the verification of autonomous systems and approaches that can be used for their mitigation.
