Challenges in Designing for the Next Era of Human Space Exploration

Abstract: Humankind is making plans to extend its reach further into the solar system, and NASA’s Advanced Exploration Systems (AES) provides innovative tools that are driving these newest efforts. NASA is developing and demonstrating innovative technologies and software platforms related to crew and robotic autonomous operations, logistics management, vehicle systems automation, and life support systems management. This talk will outline the challenges in designing robust systems and conducting inflight verification in the development of systems for future human missions beyond Earth orbit.
