Dr. Ashok Srivastava has been elected to the grade of associate fellow in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). AIAA Associate Fellows are individuals of distinction who have made notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics. Dr. Srivastava will receive the honor during the AIAA Associate Fellow Dinner at the 51st AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit in January.
BACKGROUND: Dr. Ashok Srivastava is the area lead of the Intelligent Data Understanding Group at NASA Ames, and is the Project Manager for the Systems-Wide Safety and Assurance Technologies (SSAT) project for the Aviation Safety Program. Dr. Srivastava also founded DASHlink, an online collaboration tool for researchers in systems health management, data mining, and related fields. Dr. Srivastava's research interests lie in developing machine-learning methods that scale to very large data sets.
