Nhan Nguyen has been elected by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Intelligent Systems Technical Committee (ISTC) to be the ISTC Chair at the August meeting in Boston. The AIAA ISTC is concerned with the application of Intelligent System (IS) technologies and methods for aerospace systems, the verification and validation of these systems, and the education of the AIAA membership in the use of IS technologies in aerospace and other technical disciplines. The ISTC has 51 members, including international members from academia, government, and industry. Nhan Nguyen will serve as the Vice-Chair in 2014 before transitioning to the role of Chair for 2015-17.
BACKGROUND: Nhan Nguyen is a research computer scientist in the Autonomous Systems and Robotics technical area of the Intelligent Systems Division. He is currently the Group Lead of the Advanced Control and Evolvable Systems (ACES) Group and the Task Lead for the Adaptive Aeroelastic Shape Control (AASC) research element of the NASA Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate Fixed Wing Project.
