Seventeen students from the “I Have a Dream” Foundation - San Francisco at Gateway High School visited NASA Ames and were hosted by Dr. Jeremy Frank. The students and their mentors visited a number of facilities at Ames and learned about NASA and NASA Ames’s involvement in spaceflight and aeronautics work. Facility visits included the 80 x 120 Wind tunnel (hosted by Joe Sacco), the Vertical Motion Simulator (hosted by Lisa Grant), the Gigapan project (hosted by Randy Sargeant), the Wind/Water Channels (hosted by Kurt Long), and the EAV lab (hosted by Corey Ippolito).
BACKGROUND: The “I Have a Dream” Foundation - San Francisco at Gateway High School provides opportunities for economically disadvantaged school-age students to improve their chances of graduation from high school, attending college, and entering the workforce.
